I never understood the need to issue the command twice, but it is in the documentation from Ubiquiti. if you don't the Ap will just go to disconnected status like you describe. Once to point to the controller, then after you adopt the AP you have to issue the set-inform command a second time. You have use the set-inform command twice. Any suggestions? Does anyone have experience running 5.2.7 on a different subnet from the APs? 3.x had no problem with this. This is not a very good solution, and I'd like to get a single controller back operational. To get things running again as people showed up for work, I installed a 2nd controller on this local subnet. Similarly, there have been no networking changes or anything like that

I also disabled windows firewall on the controller, antivirus, malwarebytes, and content filtering still, no change.Ĭorporate firewall should not be an issue, as the old controller was running on this same subnet, just a different computer. I then tried upgrading the firmware on one AP via SSH, then set-inform and adopt, but it resulted in the same infuriating "disconnected" status. I was able to use set-inform to get the things to reach out to the new controller IP, but, upon hitting adopt in the controller, the APs would all just switch to "disconnected" I could set-inform again and readopt, but nothing would change. This was 10pm last night at home after 12+ hours of work, so I went to bed and came in super early hoping the rest would go smoothly. In my case, that means physically unplugging them. Unfortunately, resetting these to factory requires a step that guide doesn't mention: rebooting in order to regain SSH access. No problem, I thought ssh into the APs and follow this guide: Next, I needed to add another site, but it couldn't find any APs there automatically. I got it configured then added the APs on the same subnet as the controller, no problems. I had been running version 3.2.something, and, when I migrated, I decided to go with the latest release 5.2.7. I migrated my UniFi Controller to a new machine (my desktop HDD died, which is also why I didn't restore from backup yes, I am aware I am an idiot for not saving my controller backups to the fileserver).
